Mindset for my 25th birthday.

So today is my birthday. Birthdays don’t seem the same anymore. Back when I was 10 I was more excited about getting a present more than anything. Once you get older you realize that’s not important anymore. It’s about bigger things. Presents don’t make you happier. Your overall perspective about life makes you either happy or sad.

For my 25th birthday I’m going to explain the type of person I want to be and the mindset I want to have the the years ahead of me.

I’ll need to realize that the most important thing in my life is me. I need to do what make me happy. If that means cutting toxic people out of my life then that’s what I’ll do. I won’t accept disrespectful behaviour from others. If I don’t like the way someone is talking to me I’ll need to be honest. With myself and the other person. Life is too short to live a life full of hate and anger. Don’t let other people’s problems bother you. You can offer to help but you don’t need to take responsibility for their issues.

Set strong boundaries and defend them relentlessly. Don’t let anyone cross the line. Be very strict with what you’ll accept into your life.

You don’t need to argue with someone who doesn’t respect you. You don’t need to win or prove them wrong. You need to simply ask yourself if it’s worth your time and do what you need to do to solve the issue.

Don’t make assumptions with anything or anybody. Question everything. There is no such thing as a bad question. If anybody tells you otherwise then they are the one missing out.

At the end of the day, doe what makes you happy. Do what you want.
